Education Co-ordinator
BSN
I was born and raised in California where I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. After 30 years of nursing practice and our kids grown, my husband and I decided to spend a year in New Zealand, arriving in 2014. We quickly fell in love with Gisborne’s beauty and lifestyle and decided to stay.
The first thing I did when I arrived was to join Hospice Tairawhiti as a volunteer for both patient/family support and biographies and in 2015 I started in the Education Coordinator role. The education we provide makes a real difference to the care our patients and families receive.
My favourite part of the job is promoting Advance Care Planning (ACP), from presenting workshops and educating healthcare teams and community groups to working one-on-one developing individual ACPs.
