I am originally from Scotland and studied medicine in Aberdeen. In 1988, I completed my general practice training in the Highlands and after a time of worldwide travel, I returned to Scotland to work as a breast physician for The Scottish Breast Screening Service. Part of my role was breaking bad news and supporting women early in their cancer journey.
