SPRING VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
A story of how valueable Patient Support Volunteers are
VOLUNTEERS COMPLETE US This isn't a quick video clip, it is a story of mutual respect and the development of profound friendship. This National Volunteer Week, please take the time to watch and learn just how much volunteering can make a difference. Peter, is a Hospice Tairawhiti Patient Support Volunteer, he regularly supported Jean and her husband, Trevor as he lived with a life-limiting illness. Volunteering can really make a difference, halfway this video through you will hear how Jean believes the respite that Peter gave the couple saved her soul. You can never underestimate just how much a little kindness can help someone in need. We hope the second take away you get from this video is how important it was for Trevor to have a male companion and that a male patient support volunteer role might be a perfect hobby for yourself or a male in your life. If so please get in touch with email@example.com and help make a real difference in our community. #nvw2020 #hospicetairawhiti #mencanvolunteertoo #menmatter #hospicevolunteersPosted by Hospice Tairawhiti on Tuesday, 23 June 2020

Hospice New Zealand view on euthanasia and End of Life Act
This October, New Zealanders have a life-changing decision when they vote in the referendum on the End of Life Choice Act at the general election. As one of the key providers of specialist palliative care in Aotearoa, we have put this information together to share the Hospice NZ position on euthanasia and our concerns on the End of Life Act ahead of the referendum vote. It is important to be clear, your vote is not about the concept of euthanasia. Your vote is on this Act specifically. Is this the best possible legislation to keep people safe? Please take the time to know the Act before you vote. The two links below will help clarify Hospice NZ position and concerns.
