I grew up in Gisborne and completed my nursing training at Waikato Hospital. After graduating, I spent time living and working in the United Kingdom and Africa. I then decided to move back to New Zealand and was based in Auckland.
In 1993, I moved to Gisborne and have been involved with Hospice Tairawhiti ever since. At first, I night nursed in people’s homes, but since 2001 I have worked as a palliative care nurse.
In 2022 I had my daughter and realised spending time with her was important. So I was super happy and grateful to join the Hospice Tairāwhiti Shop team in November 2023 working part-time hours. I love working with the staff and the volunteers and all their kindness they bring to work every day. No two days are the same but no matter what I enjoy coming to work and always leave with a smile.
