About the Role | Te Tūnga
The Clinical Education Resource Nurse is a senior role within our clinical team, focused on strengthening palliative care practice across Hospice Tairāwhiti and the wider health community. The role centres on delivering high‑quality education, mentoring nursing staff, and promoting best‑practice end‑of‑life care through evidence‑based learning and clinical support.
Key Responsibilities | Ngā Takohanga
- Develop, deliver and evaluate palliative care education programmes
- Mentor and support nurses through preceptorship and PDRP
- Act as a clinical education resource for hospice staff and community providers
- Promote best‑practice palliative and end‑of‑life care
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and education resources
- Provide clinical cover and participate in on‑call duties when required
What We’re Looking For | Te Manako
- Registered nurse with a minimum three years’ post‑graduate nursing experience (palliative care or related specialty)
- Current NZ Registered Nurse practising certificate
- Experience in clinical education or mentoring
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of hospice philosophy, cultural safety and interdisciplinary teamwork
- NZ residenent or holds an unrestricted New Zealand work visa
- Full, clean NZ driver’s licence
- Post‑graduate palliative care qualifications (or willingness to work towards them) are an advantage.
